Barn Dressage
Learn the dressage tests by riding them: watch the route, learn it with the track line, rehearse it from memory, then play it for crystals.
How the app works
- Watch — the demonstration rides the whole test. Drag to look around, pinch to zoom, switch to the plan view to see the figures from above.
- Learn the route — ride it yourself with the track line on the sand. Lights on the controls show the gait and the flexion the test asks for.
- Test rehearsal — no track line: ride the test from memory. The judge marks every movement from 0 to 10.
- Crystal tour (game) — crystals form ahead of you on the track. Their colour tells the gait: blue walk, green trot, gold canter, violet halt, white any gait. A crystal is only taken in the right gait; a missed one breaks the combo.
- Free riding — 20×40 and 20×60 arenas with no test, always free.
Common questions
What is free and what is paid?
Free riding, the first test with all four modes, horse and rider customisation, Game Center leaderboards and achievements are free. The other tests are unlocked by the Barn Dressage Plus subscription (monthly or yearly). Cancel any time in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. "Restore purchases" brings your subscription to a new device. Each test can also be unlocked on its own with a monthly subscription for that test only; one subscription is active at a time.
What are plays?
The crystal tour uses a play. You get three every day and earn more by finishing a test in "Learn the route", by a test rehearsal of 65% or better (each once per test per day), or by recommending the game to a friend (once per day). Restarting a run costs no play, but that run's score is not recorded.
The halt was not counted
Stand still at the letter, then press Salute where the test asks for it. Moving off early is marked as a short halt by the judge.
Are these official tests?
Barn Dressage is an independent training game and is not affiliated with any equestrian federation. The routes follow international test patterns at Children, Pony Riders and Juniors level; marks in the app are game scores, not official results.
